The Lucas 201183R Left-Hand Adjusting Brake Cylinder is a hydraulic wheel-end brake component designed for Lucas/Girling drum brake systems used on medium-duty trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles.
This left-hand cylinder features a 1.750-inch bore and a 7/16-24 hydraulic inlet port. It works with the brake shoe and adjusting mechanism to provide hydraulic actuation and help maintain proper brake operation at the left-side wheel end.
The 201183R is identified as the left-hand counterpart to 201184R. Haldex notes that older 1.625-inch cylinders were superseded by the 1.750-inch design and recommends that matching cylinders on the same axle be replaced in pairs so both sides use the same bore size. The 1.750-inch version is identified by a “6” stamp on the cylinder.
