The Bendix 287053 AD-2 Air Dryer Purge Valve Maintenance Kit is designed to rebuild the purge valve located in the end cover of compatible Bendix AD-2 air dryers.
The purge valve is a critical part of the air dryer’s operating cycle. When the compressor reaches governor cut-out pressure, the purge valve opens to discharge accumulated moisture, oil, and contaminants collected by the dryer. Worn seals, a damaged diaphragm, or sticking purge-valve components can contribute to air leakage, incomplete purging, or reduced air-dryer performance.
