The 2512140 Remanufactured Hydrovac Brake Booster is a Fourth Series single-diaphragm vacuum/hydraulic brake booster designed for older medium-duty commercial vehicles equipped with vacuum-assisted hydraulic brakes.
The Hydrovac uses engine vacuum to multiply hydraulic braking force, reducing pedal effort while providing the additional brake assist required by heavier commercial vehicles. This configuration features a large 12-3/4-inch diameter single-diaphragm housing and measures approximately 18-5/8 inches overall.
The 2512140 uses 5/16-inch inverted-flare hydraulic inlet and outlet connections, a 3/4-inch air-cleaner connection, and a 3/8-inch NPT vacuum supply port. It uses End Cap H and is designed for frame mounting without an integral mounting bracket.
This booster is particularly associated with older Ford medium-duty trucks, including F-700 configurations. Because several Hydrovac boosters have very similar housings but different port sizes, vacuum connections, and mounting arrangements, verify the original part number and connection layout before ordering.
