The SK236 Brake Caliper Shim Kit is designed for 55252-series Dayton Walther 2.88-inch twin-piston hydraulic brake calipers used on heavy-duty commercial vehicle hydraulic disc brake systems.
The shim kit provides the different shim thicknesses needed to establish proper clearance between the caliper and anchor plate. Correct caliper clearance is important for proper caliper movement, brake pad alignment, and consistent braking performance.
The SK236 family is used with the 55252 / RH55252X caliper and D236 brake pad configuration. Published service information shows SK236 shims covering clearance ranges from approximately 0.036 inch through 0.089 inch, while complete cross-reference shim sets such as Euclid E-6892 cover gaps through approximately 0.130 inch. If caliper-to-anchor clearance exceeds the allowable range, the caliper or anchor plate may require replacement rather than additional shimming.
