The Bendix 800019 ST-4 Safety Relief Valve is a heavy-duty pneumatic safety component designed to protect commercial vehicle compressed air systems against excessive pressure buildup. Factory-set to open at approximately 150 PSI, this valve automatically releases compressed air when system pressure exceeds its specified limit, helping protect air compressors, reservoirs, and other pneumatic components from overpressurization.
Featuring a durable metal body, a 1/2"-14 NPT threaded connection, and two vent openings, the ST-4 valve provides reliable pressure relief without requiring electrical connections or manual operation. The 800019 is designed to open automatically when compressed air pressure reaches its calibrated setting. Once pressure decreases sufficiently, the valve reseats to help maintain normal system operation.
Before ordering, verify the existing safety valve part number, pressure setting, and thread size. Safety relief valves are available in different pressure ratings, and an incorrect replacement may compromise the air system's overpressure protection.
A safety valve that repeatedly opens may indicate a malfunctioning compressor governor or another air system problem requiring diagnosis.
